Cynthia Ann Crawford (born February 20th the 20th of February, 1966) is an American model as well as a TV personality and actress. In the 80s and 90s, she was a renowned supermodel and was a regular on runways and magazines, and also in fashion shows. She subsequently expanded into acting and business ventures. Her sophomore year of high school saw her get the phone number of an apparel shop in the area about modeling work. She later learned that the call was made as a prank by two classmates. Crawford was among the high school girls hired by another retailer, who also had a fashion shoot. In her senior year local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included photographing a different college girl to be the week's coed on the DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to photograph Crawford for the magazine; the result was her first ever cover. The positive feedback and the photograph inspired her to get modeling. She began working at a small agency. Elite Model Management sold her to the agency soon after signing. In 1983, she was a participant in Elite's Look of the Year contest aged 17 and reached the finals at national level.
