Rachel Keller

Rachel Keller is a fictional character in The Ring film series. The character, created by producer and writer Ehren Kruger and played by Naomi Watts, serves as the protagonist in The Ring and The Ring Two which share a number of similarities to Reiko Asakawa from the original Japanese films.Introduced in 2002's film, Rachel is an investigative journalist who must figure out the best way to avoid the death penalty after viewing a cursed video tape that she discovered while investigating the murder of her niece. Rachel must investigate the life of Samara Morgan, her son, in The Ring Two. Ruth Rachel's sister is adamant Rachel to inquire into the mysterious circumstances surrounding Katie's sudden death. Rachel is told by Ruth, her sister, that she discovered Katie's distorted body inside the closet. She also discovered that Katie died from a heart attack. Katie's friends share with Rachel the tale of the cursed videotape myth and Katie's friend Becca is in a mental institution for watching Katie dying. Katie's boyfriend, and two of her best friendsall perished in bizarre accidents that took place that same night around 10:30 pm. Rachel travels to Shelter Mountain Inn, where she is in Cabin 12. This is the cabin one where Katie and her friends stayed in when they saw the tape that was cursed. Rachel finds the tape and when it's finished the phone is ringing. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel seeks help from her former boyfriend Noah Clay, a video analyst. In the future, Rachel discovers that Aidan, her son with Noah, watched the tape at the same time that Noah calls her and assures Rachel that he believes in her. Rachel is able to find the place of the lighthouse. It was located on Moesko Island. Anna Morgan, a cursed horse breeder was on the tape. Rachel discovers that Anna had an adopted daughter, Samara. She was capable of creating terrifying images within the minds of humans, animals as well as objects. Rachel confronts Anna's widower Richard. Richard demands Rachel go away as when she starts asking questions regarding Samara.
